Singing from the age of four, Carvin made his professional debut as a member of The Testimonial Singers in 1974 along with/ Howard Smith and his brothers Ronald & Marvin with their album "Love Covers", he then formed the legendary group The Winans with his brothers, Ronald, Marvin & Michael. Over the past 50 years, Carvin released a plethora of award-winning music with The Winans, winning 5 Grammy Awards and 11 nominations. Additionally, he established himself as a formidable Songwriter/Producer, creating songs for other artists like Whitney Houston, Regina Belle, Peabo Bryson, Cece Winans, Ronald Winans, Mom & Pop Winans, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Winans Phase II.

In September 2024, Carvin released his Blackground Records 2.0 debut single and video," God Still Working On Me," which has been described as "a poignant reflection on the journey of personal growth and spiritual transformation." The highly anticipated Gospel album "You Gotta Believe" will launch in 2025.
